The ethics of decision making under pressure

Although efficiency is a value in so many organisations and an important part of delivery to key stakeholders, often we don’t see potential risks or mistakes until something goes wrong.hour glass in front of clock

You’re working on two major projects with the same deadline, both of which will have major impacts for stakeholders and your organisation. Both projects also have very tight deadlines and limited resourcing. You don’t feel there is enough time built in for reflection and consideration.

You know that both projects are important, however you feel you need to prioritise one over the other, and with no time to reflect, you choose the project that you know has the potential to lead to promotion for you if it can be delivered on time.

What would you do?

Consider whether this situation needs addressing… and how would you do that?
