As a Consultant in Banker Development in my current role, I look after the training frameworks and ongoing continuous professional development of our bankers. My role involves continually re-evaluating and re-examining our procedures so that we can make things simpler and faster for our bankers, who are then empowered to make things simpler and faster for our customers. I currently work within NAB’s Enablement, Strategy and Transformation Division within Consumer Banking in Melbourne.

I personally chose to enter the Banking and Financial Services Industry as I saw it as an opp

ortunity to make a meaningful contribution into people’s lives through products and services that they use every day. I firmly believe that the role of financial services in the community is to act as custodians of people’s hard-earned money, and to support them with financially responsible advice and solutions that empower them to make their dreams come true.

My aspirations of the Young Ambassador Program are to play an active role in the paradigm-shift that the banking and financial services industry so requires. Historically, the industry as a whole has shown that in the moment’s that mattered, Banks and providers of financial services have let customer’s down time and time again by putting profits above people. I hope to be at the forefront in the shift towards a customer-centric model, where the only consideration is what is best for the customer.

The change I hope to see is an industry that puts customer’s wants, needs, and satisfaction as the cornerstone of everything that they do – and not just shareholder value.
