As an independent initiative, The BFO relies on signatory fees and donations from individuals and financial institutions that recognise the important and unique role of this Australian initiative.
The Governor of the RBA and the Chairs of APRA and ASIC are signatories, and have supported The BFO to emerge as an independent initiative that complements the role of their organisations. Signatories to The BFO include industry leaders from retail banks and investment banks, wealth and fund managers, the superannuation and advisory sectors, as well as industry associations.
Funding support from organisations enables the operation of a small secretariat. In addition to managing The BFO's main programs, the secretariat has as its main focus a range of initiatives to drive the signatory base, industry awareness, and strategic partnerships. A particular area of attention will be positioning The BFO as part of any professional accreditation initiatives in the financial services industry.
Funding support helps The BFO continually improve and raise awareness of ethical standards in financial services in Australia and we are grateful to the following organisations for their generous commitment to this important ethics initiative.
