Senior Analyst, CBA
April recently joined the Commonwealth Bank of Australia’s Data Analytics and Model Monitoring team as a Senior Analyst. Prior to embarking on this new journey she was part of the Quantitative Modeling team in the Credit Risk division of Bank of Queensland. Outside of April's daily duties, she has had experience co-ordinating projects, arranging social team events and mentoring interns. This provided a grounding to re-assert and perpetually build her ethical framework, actively endorsing such behaviour amongst colleagues. April's integration into industry originated with an internship as an Actuarial Analyst at RACQ; for which she was able to implement her academic studies in a real world context for the first time.
During her attendance at the Queensland University of Technology April was involved in the Mathematics Society. This provided a rewarding opportunity to support future graduates across all study fields in statistics and general mathematics, as well as assist the wider group with event organising.
Ethics are not only a big part of any member working in the banking and finance industry but they also shape, define and cultivate the world in which we live. As such it is important to be aware and understand not only your corporations or industries ethical guidelines but to also build your own ethical framework. April aligns with the objectives of The BFO and supports the building of young leaders who are ethically driven.
April is a graduate of the Queensland University of Technology, having completed a Bachelor of Mathematics and a Bachelor of Business (Finance).
