I look forward to connecting with other young people in the industry who are passionate about ethics and social outcomes, to work together to see how real change can be created. I also think it’s crucial that consultants know the challenges faced by people in industry (who they’re consulting), and young people working together is particularly important given we’re the future of the industry. More generally, I think the banking and finance industry is on a journey of change since the Royal Commission, and I believe young people can be a driving force for this change.

Companies are increasingly aware of employees acting on their values and principles and wanting to work for places that have a social mandate. Young people are at the face of this push – I think a groundswell of focussing on ethics is happening in the industry and initiatives like the BFO are encouraging this push.
